The ELA Cell Platform Technology
The ELA® cell is an early lineage adult stem cell that exists in an undifferentiated and highly plastic state. Upon receipt of the appropriate stimuli, it has a demonstrated ability to differentiate into tissues from all three germ layers, the mesoderm, endoderm and ectoderm, with strong evidence of the ELA cell’s ability to differentiate into a multitude of bodily tissues.
Both genetically and phenotypically distinct from other stem cells and known to exist in an immune-privileged state, ELA cells offer a unique technology that can potentially be used in allogeneic applications without the concern of rejection. Parcell Laboratories has demonstrated experience isolating quantities of non-expanded cells from live, healthy donors and ELA cells may also be culture-expanded in vitro without deleterious effects on their differentiation potential, allowing for millions of doses to be derived from a single donor.
